Course Checklist
If you have been accepted to a meditation course at the Rocky Mountain Vipassana Center, please carefully review each of the following items.

Logistics
Registration Notice
As accommodation is limited, we often have waiting lists for our courses. Please confirm your registration 3–4 weeks before the course begins. If you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible so that another person on the waiting list can attend in your place.
If you have not reconfirmed two weeks before your course starts, your space may be given to someone on the waiting list. Thank you for your cooperation.
Arrival & Departure
ARRIVE
2:00–4:00 p.m. on the first day
DEPARTS
6:30–7:00 a.m. on Day 11
ON ARRIVAL
Registration, light meal, orientation, then course begins
All students are asked to arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on the day the course begins. After registration is completed, a light meal and orientation will precede the start of the course.
The course ends on Day 11 at 6:30 AM. Please make arrangements accordingly.

If you have not already done so, please read the Introduction to the Technique and Code of Discipline before your course begins.

Packing List
Bedding
Pillow case (1 pillow will be provided)
Top and bottom sheet for twin sized bed
Warm blanket (one light blanket/comforter provided; extras are limited)
Sleeping bag (for students with tent accommodations)
Meditation Cushions
Your own meditation cushions (cushions at course sites are limited)
Shawl or blanket separate from sleeping blankets
Meditation floor mats will be supplied for every student
Clothing
Enough warm, comfortable, and modest clothing for the duration
Pants or skirts that cover your knees while seated
Limited hand washing facilities and clotheslines only — pack enough for the full stay
Observe modest dress as outlined in the Code of Discipline
Seasonal Items
Rocky Mountain weather is usually unpredictable, quickly changeable, and sometimes extreme. Please bring clothing for both warm and cool, as well as rainy conditions, regardless of the time of year or weather reports. As the saying goes, "if you don't like the weather just wait an hour!"

Yaktrax or similar shoe traction devices
Toiletries
For the comfort of other students, please do not bring any perfumes or scented creams, powders, shaving lotions, etc. Some students are very sensitive to smells during a course.

Unscented deodorant
Shampoo
Shower sandals (flip-flops)
Shaving supplies
Feminine hygiene supplies
What NOT to Bring
Leave these at home
Tight, transparent, revealing, or striking clothing (shorts, short skirts, tights, leggings, sleeveless or skimpy tops)
Books, diaries, journals and other reading/writing materials
Laptop computers
Cell phones, pagers or palm pilots
Musical instruments
Tobacco in any form
Perfumes or strongly scented toiletries
Religious or spiritual objects
Jewelry or other unnecessary valuables
Personal food items
If you arrive with any of these items you will be asked to leave them with the management until the end of the course.
